In an unexpected turn of events, Fortnite‘s Item Shop was abruptly disabled on December 2nd, marking the first time in the game’s history that this feature has been taken offline. This unexpected move followed a failed cosmetic rotation, leaving the shop bare except for the Crew Pack section and OG Pass tiers.
Initially, players anticipated a quick fix to rectify the issue. However, Epic Games decided to disable the Item Shop entirely, announcing that they were working to “fix some issues.”

Since the inception of Fortnite’s OG Season in November, the Item Shop has experienced various glitches and instabilities. On certain days, the store would offer minimal items, incorrect section labels, or even prevent players from making purchases.
At the time of writing, the Fortnite Item Shop remains inaccessible. Epic Games has provided an update, stating that “while [they] continue to bring the Item Shop back online, players may notice their purchases fail to complete and the number of offers fluctuating over the next few hours.” This highlights the unprecedented instability surrounding the Item Shop.
With the highly anticipated Big Bang live event scheduled for December 2nd, it is expected that Epic Games will resolve the Item Shop issues before the event’s commencement. Players are advised to monitor the official Fortnite Status X page for updates.
