Rhaenyra Targaryen is ready to take her rightful place on the Iron Throne
House of the Dragon, the highly anticipated prequel to HBO’s blockbuster fantasy drama Game of Thrones, is set to return for a second season in early summer 2024. The first teaser trailer for the new season was released on Friday, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming conflict between Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower.
The first season of House of the Dragon ended with the two friends turned foes, setting the stage for an epic battle for control of the Seven Kingdoms. Rhaenyra Targaryen, the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, will not stop at anything to prove herself worthy of the crown. Meanwhile, Alicent Hightower, the mother of the rightful heir, will not rest until her son is seated on the throne.
The second season of House of the Dragon promises to be even more action-packed and dramatic than the first. With two powerful women vying for the same throne, it is only a matter of time before Westeros is plunged into war.
