Time magazine reporter faces backlash for interviewing Khalistan referendum leader, Piers Morgan weighs in

Time magazine journalist Ashta Rajunshi has deactivated her X account following a wave of criticism and threats from entities linked to the Indian government. The reaction came after he conducted an interview with Sikh leader Grupatunat Singh Pinan, focusing on the failed Indian attempt to assassinate him on American soil.

 

Rajonshi’s in-depth Q&A with Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) leader and spokesperson for the Khalistan Referendum, Pinan, focused on the Financial Times’ investigation into the failed assassination attempt. The controversy escalated when the interview drew threats, including those of Abhijit Iyer Mitra, a defense analyst attached to the Indian government.

 

Former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan expressed skepticism, suggesting that Rajonesh is “obviously lying again” about the Dutch edition of Umid Scooby’s book ‘End Game’, which was allegedly ‘royalist racists’. ‘ has been named.

Despite the threats, Pinan persisted in pursuing the Khalistan referendum campaign, asserting the right of the Sikh community to vote on a fundamental question. The interview sheds light on the complex dynamics surrounding Sikh advocacy and India’s response to those challenging its territorial integrity.”
